چکیده

Background: Expanded polystyrene granules (EPG) can be used as an aggregate for producing lightweight concrete (LWC). EPG was to make LWC with a density of 1326kg/m 3 and 1337kg/m 3, while the without fiber had 1320kg/m . Due low strength brittleness LWC, need improve properties this type is necessary. Objective: The aim paper research investigate possible ways enhancing mechanical LWC. Hence, investigation work focuses on use chopped basalt (BF) steel (SF) separately dispersed reinforcement in compressive Methods: A general review from previous researchers similar conducted, then experimental method effect BF SF Nine series were produced tested. Compression testing measure sample. determined by mass volume. Results: results show concrete. reinforced obtained its maximum when 1.5% incorporated 1% included Conclusion: Based results, amount added affects not just but also density.

Prediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength

Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method.  One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...

Influence of Nano-silica and Polypropylene Fibers on Bond Strength of Reinforcement and Structural Lightweight Concrete (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this study, first by surveythe parameters affecting the compressive strength, such as water to cement ratio, cementgrade, silica fume to cement percentage, and the various ratios oflight weight aggregate LECA, to total aggregate, Taguchi method is used, to test 9 mix designsobtained the mix design optimization. Since lightweight concrete is brittle like normal concrete, to resolve this probl...

Assessing Strength Variability of Concrete Structural Elements

The average in-situ strength of a member, expressed as the strength of an equivalent compression test result, will be lass than of a standard cast specimen of the same concrete, which has been properly compacted and moist-cured for 28 days. The extend of the difference will depend on construction techniques, but general patterns can be defined according to member type. Variations in concrete su...

MODELING FLEXURAL STRENGTH OF EPS LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE USING REGRESSION, NEURAL NETWORK AND ANFIS

Lightweight concrete (LWC) is a kind of concrete that made of lightweight aggregates or gas bubbles. These aggregates could be natural or artificial, and expanded polystyrene (EPS) lightweight concrete is the most interesting lightweight concrete and has good mechanical properties. Bulk density of this kind of concrete is between 300-2000 kg/m3. In this paper flexural strength of EPS is modeled...

Flashag – New Lightweight Aggregate for High Strength and Durable Concrete

A new patented lightweight aggregates is tested. This type is given the name Flashag. The only solid raw material used to manufacture these aggregates is fly ash. The aggregates are sintered but not pelletized and the process is easy and inexpensive. This paper describes these patented aggregates and compares them with other lightweight and normal-weight aggregates that are used for concrete. T...
